Yep. It must be snowing in Washington. I told my friend Tony, "The bread selection wasn't bad, but the potato chip aisle was wiped out." Tony said, "The essentials."
This store didn't sell beer. Wine too, Sue. Have a Happy Holiday. My big concern about this storm? Losing power. Stuck in the house with no electricity? OH NO!
I hope you are keeping warm. "Snowfall" has become today's theme song. The Manhattan Transfer version that you suggested is so gorgeous that I posted it on my blog and have listened to it five or six times already today. I've also been listening to an arrangement by Claude Thornhill, the pianist/bandleader who composed the song back in the early 1940s. It's a very interesting arrangement and it apparently was also his theme song - I think he was just a little bit ahead of his time. But the Manhattan Transfer version, which I'd never heard before is definitely my favorite! Thank you very much for suggesting it.
Ronda: that and the digging out are my two big concerns. I haven't seen a plow yet. I had to walk to the post office this morning, and they were closing early. I was surprised they were even open.
Barbara: It has turned into a landmark snow, that's for sure. I've been working through my list of "things to do" inside while nature has her way.
Cyndy: I'm glad you liked it. It's one of my favorite "Christmas" songs.
I know all about the food shortages that cause one to resort to cannibalism during snowstorms, but little known fact is that snow makes you produce inordinate amounts of feces, thus the need to clean out the toilet paper sections.

Wow, those shelves are devastated.
Yep, being how during a big storm without electricity is not so fun.
This will go down as the Blizzard of 2009. No one will remember what they ran out of. They will just remember the 2 feet of snow.

i keep a couple of cases of cat food in a closet --you never know.
Happy Birthday!
Thanks Cyndy. I'm about to put up some snow pics for us.

Phil: I knew you'd have the answer.
