What the heck version of AOL is that? That can't be anything recent. That looks like 3.0 or something.

Nought but the marketing staff remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten E-Babylon.

Believe it or not, Mr. 69 ;)....that is the latest version of AOL...and I know....doesn't it look like AOL 0.1?

I told some friends I hadn't seen messages like that from AOL in a looooonnnnngggg time. So much for the firings and outsourcings and moving to NYC. The king lies in ruins.

For about two weeks, various friends (and myself) on AOL have noticed all sorts of "glitches"--freeze ups, double lines of type, rebootings required. Obviously AOL no longer has the manpower to address tech problems as quickly as it was.

OH...I did go into a chat room...at 5:30 a.m.....ribs injury..couldn't sleep...and there was a bot in there...pink font "Hi I'm a 19 year old coed..read my profile...." but here's the kicker.....she typed she was bored and playing with her profile and needed help redoing her profile. YES! A bored bot! They have programmed bots now to say they are "bored." Welcome to our brave new world.

For the love of all things holy. That's current AOL? I haven't logged in in forever, and I haven't set foot in a chat room in even longer.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

PS: This avatar is my favorite of my seasonal avatars. It won't be up long, as you can probably imagine. I need to see if I have my St. Patrick's day one still...

Chat will not be silenced; it will free itself in some new form.

Naughty Cube -- your lacy cheeks are glowing in this brisk weather.

K: So. Have you given up on PBS and Jane Austen YET????

66/9: I had two avatars using pinups that had been custom photoshopped for me for Valentines and St. Patrick's Day, and when my hard drive fried this summer, I lost a ton of photos, including those. They will be mourned.

The abomination that was the new PBS version of Persuasion has scarred my psyche deeply, so deeply that I skipped Northanger Abbey. But Cube, the next installment is Mansfield Park. Cube, Cube, I can be forgiving, I can be open-minded, and yes, I'm afraid I will try and watch it. If I am once again reduced to helpless whines and sniffles if PBS "modernizes" my Austen and reduces it to a simple soaper, there will be consequences. I will send back to PBS those annoying pledge letters covered with nasty notes. Oh yes, Cube, very severe notes.
