The singer I was working with at the Carlyle Club did a Frank Sinatra tribute set, followed by by two sets that contained a lot of pop songs from the 60s and 70s. All nice tunes that I hadn't heard in a while.
Last year around this time we still didn't have plumbing in our house so we'd go to the Starbucks up the street about twice each day to get coffee, among other things. I swear that song came on every single time we were in there, but I didn't mind because it was such a nice arrangement. I wish I could remember who the singer was. Her singing style sort of reminded me of Karen Carpenter, but the arrangement was more in a big band style so I doubt it was her.
Cyndy: Ella, Lena and Nancy Wilson come to mind, but I know you would recognize them. Maybe Diana Krall's version with the band? I thought Julie London did it as well. It's a standard. I cannot bear Rufus Wainwright doing that or anything...the nasality.

I wish that "blue" moon had been visible on New Year's Eve. We didn't even play Blue Moon, although I did suggest it. Happy New Year!
Cyndy: I know a lot of bands that did Blue Moon on NYE. That and "What Are You Doing New Year's...New Year's Eve." ;)

"What Are You Doing NYE?" that is.
